At Howlies we understand that dogs want to play but it is just as important that they rest, especially our younger and older family members.
Therefore we introduced our play and rest policy.
Everyday the staff work closely with the dogs and we have a timetable built in where we take the dogs out of the field and place them in a secure crate so they can have a resting period. Some dogs do not rest very well in a crate in the lunch hut so we may take your dog out on a short drive in the van to encourage them to rest, its all for the good of the dogs and we put them in the place where they have the best possible chance of resting ready for some more exciting play :)
We do also have warm, comfortable sleeping mats inside but a lot of the dogs prefer to have a quick snooze on the grass or outdoor areas instead, it's all down to where the individual dog wants to be and feels comfortable.
Young pups and senior dogs are identified and have a different resting schedule with more frequent rest periods encouraged.
